"I worked hard as a Ministerial Servant and all I got was this lousy drinking problem!"
by Mr. Falcon ini was driving home the other evening pondering the past couple of turbulant years for me and my family.
i reflected back on my appointment as a ministerial servant and my attitude, beliefs and thinking at the time.
i thought about the subsequent misery that being a servant brings once the the glow wears off and people stop "commending you on your fine spiritual progress.

Archibald said at a assembly one time "Sisters, if you get a return visit who is a man, turn it over to the brothers, because how can YOU as a woman teach a man???" Classic.

BREAKING MY SILENCE EVERYONE READ!!!
by D8TA inas ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.
this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.
therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

Is there really any difference between disfellowshipping and disassociation?
by iamwhoiam inyou would think being disfellowshipped is like being fired from a job and being dissassociated is like quitting a job...is this the correct understanding?.
as much as i have been searching for the answer to this question in the later articles, i can't really find a concrete answer.
but being an ms and raised in "the truth", i was always brought up to feel like if someone disassociates themself, they are automatically labeled an apostate.

I always thought that apostates, as they are labeled by WT, were such a small group of older "crazies", white people,(no offense but the few I ever saw growing up were white) who held up signs outside of the KH or assemblies. I can not believe how many normal people are on this site! All different ages, races, etc.. I am so glad I found it and I'm not alone!!

Did any of you need counselling or psychotherapy as a JW?
by TimothyT ini have just started my new course to be a qualified counsellor.
naturaly i am studying this because of my own background and now i want to help others who have had similar strains on their lives.. i know the pressure that the jw organisation puts on its members, so i was wondering, if you dont mind saying so of course, did any of you attend counselling sessions due to the pressures and problems that the jw life brought along?.
i can imagine that the majority of my old congregation (myself, my dad and my brother included) would need some form of counselling or medication in order to remain sane.

I just started therapy after learning the truth about the truth. The therapist told me she has treated "numerous ex JW's". Hope it will help.

I really resent the fact that the WT looked down upon alot of music. Rap was considered violent. Heavy metal was satanic. I missed out on so much music growing up it's unbelievable. I just discoverd Korn and Slipknot, and I freakin love this music. But my husband, who never was a JW, just told me this music was out in the 90's when I was a teenager. I also recently discovered Led Zep and Pink Floyd a few years ago. I was telling my mom, a devout JW, how I love the band Led Zep. She was like that's demon music, you better be careful!! Led Zep sings so many freakin love songs!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?! Ugh, they are so brainwashed it drives me insane. Anyone else grow up JW and get deprived of music and is just now discovering music that was out years ago like me???

Do your elders care at all?
by Mr. Falcon ini currently have an elder body who, for the most part, seems utterly complacent and disinterested in actually "shepherding" anything.
i can't tell if they are lazy or just oblivious to their responsiblities of being "teachers".
it seems like they are the last to know anything and always procrastinate on everything.
